Never again...I received my 90th Bed Bath and Beyond coupon in the mail last week (always coming in the mail constantly). So I went to the Mesquite, TX store location to see if there were any items I could use my coupon on.

Once I got to the register the cashier pointed out the Bed Bath And Beyond +Beta Membership and that I could save even more if I signed up right now on my cell phone. After completing the online app and paid my $29 annual fee. The cashier proceeds to ring up my items. I gave her my coupon and showed her my cell phone to show my new membership.

Thatโ€™s when the cashier informe that the membership cannot be combined with any other discounts. I told her that I would NOT have signed up for the membership if she had told me prior...that the membership can NOT be combined.

Later that same day I emailed BBandB customer service and explained what had just taken place and requested a refund. A couple days later I received a reply stating that the membership was NON-REFUNDABLE.

So I called the 800 number and was told the same thing. I told the representative on the phone to keep the $29 fee BUT cancel my membership and do NOT auto-renew and charge my credit card anymore.

The representative replied...sorry, we canโ€™t cancel you now because you just enrolled but call back next year a week or two before the membership expires. At which point they will be able to cancel it. I answered back...well what if I forget to call and cancel on time and it auto-renews, so I would have to wait another year and try to catch it before it re-news again?

He replied, yes. I hung up...frustrated and determined to NOT shop at Bed Bath and Beyond again!

Reason of review: Return, Exchange or Cancellation Policy.

Monetary Loss: $29.

Bed Bath and Beyond Cons: Representatives reply.

DOSIA B should request a new card so BBB is unable to charger her in the future.. Gove the membership away and be sore to get every penny of value availble!! Terrible sales tactics!!!

I agree with with this customer.. they notified me in my email and 1 minute later charged my card ..

I called bed bath and beyond to cancel and get my money back and she said no they wonโ€™t refund my money.. she said that they are to notify me like 3 months in advance of auto renew and they never did .. I WAS a very good customer of bed bath and beyond .. they have to understand that they are *** off customers that can afford to spend the money for the plus membership and shop there ..

frankly they can keep my money ... I will shop elsewhere,, they are not the only game in town ..

I donโ€™t understand why youโ€™re upset. By signing up for the membership you save 20% off your ENTIRE purchase vs getting that discount on only 1 item.

So at the end of the day youโ€™re going to save more money by using your membership instead of a coupon. Depending on how much you spent when you first signed up you could of already got your money back by what you saved. For example, if your purchase totaled $100 and you have a $60 item and a $40 item if you were to use just a coupon you would of only saved $12.

By getting 20% off the entire purchase you would save $20. Sooo youโ€™re still better off to have the membership discount if you shop at Bed Bath and Beyond on a regular basis.

You can cancel the auto renewal from your account online.

I agree too

I think it's false advertising... the website says the price and then the Beyond+ price, which makes you think you could still use your coupon.

Companies like this and Kohl's are just scammers!

Makes you want to avoid them altogether. Thanks for posting.

I like kohlโ€™s coupons but not bed N baths they raise their prices to give you the impression that stupid coupon is saving you Money. It isnโ€™t!

I like the stuff that they sell at bed, Bath & Beyond. I think that they are a really cool and neat place to shop at.

I love it. I saved much more than the fee with my first purchase.

I shop in store and online and discounts are automatically taken when I use the app.

The discount is applied to sale merchandise Iโ€™ve purchased. It has worked very well for me.

I had the same experience today. This feels like such a scam that they wont let you cancel until the year is up.

I only signed up today in error while I was picking gifts from wedding registry. I called right away to cancel and was told they could not cancel. I have asked my bank to stop payment on this.

If they carry on this way they will lose custom. This is no way to treat good customers.

Never sign up for something without reading the fine print. You are held to the agreement terms you signed, not to what a retail employee said in store.

(Believe me, I think employees SHOULD be trained to know). But at the end of the day, it's "buyer beware ". BBB has the detailed terms & exclusions printed all over their website.

It clearly says, "NON REFUNDABLE" from day one. We are adults.

Beyond membership is bogus after having the membership for a month they discontinued it without explanation (it is a year membership!) no email saying why and I basically lost 29 dollars Dont get the membership it is a Lie! charge back claim will be made!

Guest

$29. membership gives you 20% off ENTIRE order instead of 20% off an itemusing a coupon.

Plus free shipping.

Much easier especially if you have alot of stuff. What's the problem?

Guest

I joined because I do love shopping at bed bath & beyond. I hate getting the coupons in the mail simply because you have to use them by a certain date to get the 20% off.

Now I don't have to do that! However, I did set a reminder on my phone calendar 51 weeks from my membership to cancel if I don't wish to renew.

They have an โ€œexpiration dateโ€ but never expire. I use them from years ago on a regular basis.

This has changed. They used to take them no matter what. Now most managers will let you use a coupon with an expiration date 6 mos - 1 year

Guest

Why would you want to combine a 20% off your ENTIRE purchase with something else. All you need is that one coupon when placing the order. If you were unclear about something when the promotion was introduced you should have asked questions prior to sliding your card

Mr/Ms YoshiObviously you have nothing better to do with your time but peruse the internet in search of reviews to comment on. Happy that I was able to be of service. Enjoy the rest of your week.

I just was at my local store and the cashier asked if I had ever heard of the new promotion. She explained it to me, said I could enroll at any time and that it was worth it if I was a frequent shopper (which I am not) but she was not pushy at all.

I did charge my purchase and used my 20% off coupon and that was the only charge from them on my credit card. I chose at this point not to enroll since I do not shop there that often (only because I have whatever I need right now, LOL).
